Physics graduates who are currently engaged in job fields in government and semi government sectors participated this discussion and shared their experiences, knowledge and thoughts regarding the matter.


This event had more than 100 participants including large number of undergraduates

A discussion on 'Higher education and career opportunities after graduation' Organized by the Physical Society of University of Peradeniya was held on Sunday, 22nd November via Zoom.

Physics graduates who are currently studying in USA, Canada and Taiwan participated in this discussion. 

This event had more than 150 participants including large number of undergraduates.

Annual General Meeting 2020

Annual General Meeting of the Physical Society of University of Peradeniya was successfully held on Monday 28th of September at the Faculty of Science , University of Peradeniya 


Science Camp 2019/2020

As a part of the annual agenda of the Physical Society, the charity programme was launched in September 2019 aiming the students of Wijayalanka Secondary School Welamboda. The programme was conducted in order to assist the students with their education by holding teaching sessions every Saturday. We marked the end of the whole programme on 28th December, distributing stationary items among the students required for forthcoming academic year. It was such a great pleasure to witness the smiles of the students as we concluded all the activities of the society for the year 201

Opening of the Advanced Materials Research Laboratory

Opening Ceremony of Advanced Materials Research Laboratory- Department of Physics was held on 30th July 2020 at Department of Physics, Faculty of Science University of Peradeniya. 


Solar Cell Workshop 2020

Multi-University Solar Edu-training National Project was successfully held on 09th of January 2020 at the Science Faculty premises. 


Computing with Quantum Systems

Second guest lecture was held on 28th October at Physics Lower Theatre. The guest speaker of the event, Quantum Systems Engineer (Intel Labs, Intel Corp , Dr.Shavindra Premaratne, presented the lecture on Quantum Computing and how it facilitates certain computations.
